Halfords Bodywork Services
My local Halfrauds are offering to fix dents, scratches, bumper scuffs, interior damage, alloy refurbs etc. Pretty much offering all the services done by littleknocks and alike. Their prices are competitive so I'm interested as they are nearby.
Question is, they say they can get a perfect match/finish on any paintwork done, but they only offer a years warranty. So has anyone had bodywork done by them and/or would you trust them with your delicate scooby panels?

I would say that caution is required here.
I rcently bought a silver 04STI second hand.
After a while, there were marks appearing in the paint where it appeared to be "flecky" with pronounced silver "bits" appearing below the surface.
Upon returning it the the dealer where I bought it I was referred to a reputable body shop as they do not have their own.
It appears thet early in the cars life it had a little knock repaired at a quick fix place.
According to the spray shop (who seemed very knowledgeable) these places uses paint that cures very quickly and it is not uncommon for blemishes to start appearing up to 12 months later, especially after exposure to sunlight - as was the case with mine as it was mint when I bought it.
It is now sorted, but take care as a quick/cheap fix could result in a big bill further down the line.
I am not sure if Halfords use the same materials, but a comparative quote from a reputable spray shop may be prudent.
I am curious if anyone else has suffered similar problems to me?

I wouldn't trust Halfords to fit a valve cap to be honest. 3 months they had my Supra in their workshop. They called out mobile electricians and all sorts and when they gave it back still not working they tried to charge me storage as well as shed loads of labour for doing **** all!
Once I pointed out that they'd lost the fuel filler key and the enormous dent in the wingtop where they'd dropped an exhaust from the racks onto it they decided to waive their bill.
It only went in there because it brokedown in their carpark.
Turned out to be the AFM. £70 and 10 minutes later she was purring again...
