Thumbs down VIRGIN CARS ANYONE USED THEM

hi
i ordered a golf gt tdi 3 door from them 16 weeks ago and the car was due to arrive last week, they didnt contact me at all and after 3 emails and about 20 phone calls i managed to get the unhelpful customer service gibbon to simply admit he had no idea when my car would arrive at all and they would get an idea of arrival next monday a full 2 weeks after the car was due to be here, i then have to pay in full and wait a week till my car arrives.
I should emphasise that next monday they might tell me i have a further long wait till the car comes
Im not a happy shopper

To be honest a wouln't buy a cd from Virgin, never mind get on one of their trains or planes either. Worlds pikiest company IMHO. There's better places to get a car from.

Thumbs down

Car turned up late with a completely flat battery and not a drop of fuel + some scratches to the front of the bonnet.

we hads to 'jump' the car off of another in the car park but it took 30 mins just to get a bit of juice into the battery.

The monkey who dropped the car (from a low loader) did not have jump leaeds, fuel or a charger/booster and could not have cared less.

The car arrived a week late and was supposed to be droped in the afternoon. We waited at work (comapny car) until 20:30hrs for it to arrive, no calls no contact and they coyuld not advise us of a time.

Totally underwhelmed

However company saved 3K so i suppose you get what you pay for.

If I were you, I'd send a letter to Richard Branson. He has been known to sort out these sorts of things personally.

Probably not much consolation, but by posting this you have saved me from ordering from them so they have lost at least one potential customer!

Good luck with getting your car sorted out.

Virgin is run by DC Cook now, or 'Motor Solutions' as they trade as.

If I were you mate I'd get your deposit back - which your more than entitled too - and go to one of the car supermarkets where they have the cars physically in stock, Motorpoint or Motorhouse 200 are the best

after findind a sales manager who pulled rank and MADE a customer service supervisor ring me back i get the truth with assorted lies
1. as i ordered a specific paint colour blue graphite pearl virgin are unable to get this colour (offered me a uk car in black or silver (my bmw is black, my scoob is silver )
i wanted the car i asked for, he tried to fob me off adding insult to injury saying i would have to pay 400 pounds extra on top for the uk car. WTF i have a contract surely. What can i do, also delivery is 2-3 weeks from now
ie a good 5-6 weeks after stated
WHAT CAN I DO

If I understand correctly, it sounds like they have fooked up the order for the car in your colour of choice, hence offering black or silver in 2-3 weeks, i.e. they will have a field full of black/silver ones in belgium or wherever. Your contract was for a blue graphite car, if they can't supply that the contract is broken.
I'd write to them demanding your deposit back. Don't know how desperate you are for wheels but I'd take it as a point of honour not to give them any money.
Check out the brokers www.drivethedeal.co.uk and www.brokers4cars.co.uk - both offering a UK main dealer supplied car with pearlescent paint for about £16,400 - which seems a better deal than the pre-registered imports on the Virgin site at £15.499

If its any use, my dad ordered a new Golf 2.0 tdi 3dr from www.ukcarbroker.co.uk. It was a uk car and once he agreed to buy he was contacted by a lister VW garage somewhere in the Midlands who took care of the whole process. He paid a deposit and then took the balance as a bankers draft when he went to collect it. On arrival the car was ready and waiting in the showroom and someone took him around the whole car making sure it was ok. He saved about £2000.00.

laters

No your not I got my scoob from them, never again. All went well originally then the delivery date slipped for reasons beyond their control. When the car finally arrives and they demand the rest of the money i`m 4000 miles away saving the western world from the evil empire, so unable to do anything til I get back, they told me they would bring the car into the country and deliver it just after i`d paid. Well i was back in the country mid july i didn`t get the car til september, they didn`t bring it into the country , and it got delayed aswell not happy. Next car i`m buying will be on a six month or more trip overseas and get one tax free from a UK dealer.
