Who should I use to prepare car for track?
Hello there,
Fairly new to Scoobynet. Looking to do my first track day in my Scooby. Own a Classic Shape, Turbo 2000, unmodified. I was wondering who you guys would recommend for track day preperation?
I'm based in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. Anything in that area would be particularly useful.
Any help much appreciated,
Andrew.

There are a few things that need to be done and some things that are nice to have done, if the budget allows.
Must do includes fresh oil and a good check of all fluids, brakes, bushes etc. It is also very advisable to uprate the brakes, as the standard ones are not up to track use. If you plan on doing lots of track days, don't mess about with discs and pads (these provide some improvement, but not enough for track use), go for a decent brake kit.
Things which are nice to have, if the budget allows, are better suspension, harnesses, spare wheels with slicks and, of course, more power. You can have a great day without any of these though.
Make a list of what fits in within your budget and call up a few companies. Any of the well known companies will be able to do this work.
Darren (RRR), love the shameless self plug
