Hi folks.
I am hopefully getting my first scooby in the next couple of weeks, and want some recommendations for servicing the car.
If any of you know of a good garage that you use for yours that are realistically priced with good workmanship you can trust, then let me know.
The car I have in mind is a 99 T UK spec with 38000 miles. Probably needs a cam belt changer very soon.
Hope you can help.

The Scooby franchise in Shrewsbury changed companies recently, not used them yet so can't comment.
I get mine serviced at Oaken Subaru near Wolverhampton. Allways had good service, but I have dealt with them now for years so have got pretty friendly with all the guys there.
Hope that helps.

Not sure on their "official" policy, but I allways get one !
Don't hold out on anything great though, usually a base model Legacy or similar.
Give them a call 01902 844441. Steve is the service manager, Kieth the salesman, and Monty the dealer principal.
They are on the A41 heading into Wolverhampton off J3 of the M54.
Cheers

I have just obtained a new WRX from Oaken, so I wait and see what their serving is like (1000 miles due in 2 weeks) but they seem helpful and knowledgable(aforementioned Monty) . They will supply a loan car.
My experience of Hylton in Shrewsbury is bad. I took my MY00 Turbo there for its 45,000 service and they did not have time to do the service as requested ! Also they were not interested in selling me a new car to replace the old scooby - so bye bye Hylton ! Hello Oaken.
Have heard good reports also of Showells in Stourbridge. But yes dearth of Scooby options in Shropshire.

Thanks folks, very helpful.
Hyltons are calling me with some prices tomorrow, I think I will call Oaken instead.
My car was imported from Belgium from new. Will they deal with imports?

Don't know if Oaken will deal with imports, but worth a try. Probably get a straight answer out of them rather than Hylton !
Alternatively are there any independants near to Shrewsbury ?? probably better & cheaper if you are not stuck to a main dealer for warranty issue
Did you import your scoobie new, or buy S/H ??
Maybe see you around someday: Mine is Silver WRX 03 Wagon covering South Shropshire, Telford and Shrewsbury

Thanks Shropshire Lad.
Would be good to meet up on our travels, I reallly look forward to meeting other Scooby owners, I have wanted this car for years now. I've become a bit of an enthusiast I think.
I don't know of any good independants, perhaps some of the kind people on here can recommend somebody. I have used St. Michaels Street Garage some years ago when I had a Toyota Corolla GTi. He did me a cam belt as Hyltons were well expensive. Had no problems then. I may try there again.
Anybody else got any thoughts?
