Hi

Anyone suggest where I can buy genuine Subaru Parts, to do a 60k service & cambelt for my scoob. Hopefully a bit cheaper than my local dealer ?

Thanks in advance

You could try Partco

Dont know if they do them or not, but I called in one day to get some brackets, the two guys came out to look at my car, and one of them said 'for gods sake dont tell us you want a service kit'

so either they do them, but had none in stock, or they have been inundated with calls

Partco is a chain, they're everywhere. Check http://www.yell.co.uk

You could try Camberley Auto Factors too - not sure if they're in your area but there's half a dozen branches near me.

Id take your car to a dealer for the 60k service, its not an easy one to do unless your a trained mechanic.
You have to change all your fluids (gearbox/diffs etc) your sparkplugs, clutch/brake fluid etc and your also doing your cambelt
Now it takes a dealer 5-6 hours to do this with the proper equipment, how long is it going to take you?!

I'm not a mechanic (I've just messed around with cars for the past 8 years) and it took me an hour and a quarter (start to finish) to do a Scoob cambelt change. Not difficult at all.

As long as you follow the instructions precicely then it will work.
(It's important to compress the belt tensioner vertically IIRC)

Once had a guy that repleaced his own cambelt, put it on incorrectly bent his valves........

Cost a lot more to fix that than the cambelt change would have done.......

Make sure you do follow procedures.....
