I have just been informed by my local dealer that these tyres have not been imported into the country for the past year and are impossible to get hold of.

Is this true, and if so, what do I do about replacing a punctured tyre?

Talking

There are various Bridgestone Potenzas.
The ones supplied as standard on recent Imprezas (RE011?) were widely available at the beginning of the year because I replaced one after getting a number of quotes. The dealer could be talking rubbish. Kwik-Fit repair tyres for free if you have not trashed it by driving it with no air in.

I think SO2's in certain sizes are getiing hard to find now

I needed a 205/45/17 in a hurry recently & couldn't find any around Derby.

Graham at TSL has some 16" SO2's but no 17's

Try Elite Autos. 01708 525577. I have used them for years and they usually work out about 30-50% cheaper than dealers or Kwik Fit type places.

They specialise in performance tyres and can usually get unusual sizes. I had a Lancia that had metric wheel (340mm) rims !

They deliver overnight and then go to a local garage to get them fitted and balanced.

Used to be able to get Bridgestone SO-2's 195/50 ZR 15 for about £60 per tyre for my Lancia Dedra Turbo.

Add shipping, fitting & balance and this came out about £150, usually about the same as getting 1 tyre from Kwik Fit.

They give good advice on grip v wear and always have good selection of Bridgestone, Pirelli, Yokohama and all the other good performance tyres available.

Will be using them when I next need new tyres for my Impreza.
