Popped in for some rear break pads last week noticed a lack of scoobs in the show room, I was told they will be gone by Christmas and its going to be a purely Rover dealership !! aparently the family that owned it is retiring, so Lavendar hill and Ace Kensington gone in 12 months, North of London needs a new dealership me thinks, where do I sign up !!

Lavender Hill - the facts
We stopped selling New Subaru's at the end of June 2002. We remain an official parts/service/warranty dealer at least until the end of the year. (This date may move forward to Jan/Feb) The reason for this is that my father is retiring and I have no desire to take over the dealership. It seems certain that I will redevelop the petrol forecourt and shop, and take over the running of that - so any of you petrol heads coming in for a tank of Optimax, feel free to drop in for a chat and a coffee
The used sales/mechanical side will be taken over by the current sales manager, under a new company. When this happens Lavender Hill Garage Ltd will cease to be an official dealer. The exact date for this is not set in stone yet, so we may remain as we are for a few months into the new year. Be aware that Lavender Hill Garage Limited will cease to trade some time in the new year, and any servicing done on site after that happens will not have official Subaru UK backing - be aware of warranty implications
The new company will still service Subaru's, but be aware they will not be an official dealer.
The site will not become an official Rover dealer, although it is the intention of the new management to specialise in Rover’s.
I will continue to post on scoobynet, and offer any advice I can, given my intimate knowledge of being a past Subaru dealer.
Regards
David

Its a shame David because I always enjoyed my cross country drive from Mill Hill to Enfield, via Barnet where I grew up.
Good luck to your father and may he have a long and enjoyable retirement.
Chadwell Heath to far east for me.

Hiya John !
Its a real shame to see such a good dealer move away from Subaru. Really makes me wonder if Subaru know what they are doing. Not having a dealer in North London will make me have to re-evaluate my Subaru ownership in the future.

Having bought 3 cars from Lavender Hill over the last 4 years and had them regually serviced by them have got to know the staff very well. And I cannot praise them highly enough for their quality of service and commitment to customer satisfaction.
David I can thoroughy understand your reasoning though and wish you and every one at the garage every success in the future.
