Warrenty question.
#1
When my cars 3 year warrenty expired I extended it for a further 2 years with Subaru. I dont think its actually a Subaru warrenty but I think a different company supplies it for Subaru. My question is.... is it possible to keep extending your warrenty after these 5 years is up ? Maybe until the 60000 miles is up, or maybe indefinately.
Any ideas ?

The standard warrenty is 3 years or 60,000 miles. The extended is 5 years unlimited mileage.
Don't know what happens after 5 years. Dare say you can get one from a lot of insurance companies.

Subaru's extended warranty is with Mondial, supposed to be a "shadow" of original subaru one, but be wary, it is not. You will find some companies who will take on mechanical cover but you may well end up paying for more than you want to in cover charges. If the money is burning a hole in your pocket, why not put it in a seperate account in the building society and start your own "breakdown fund", I did, and it works, not only that, but you can cream off the interest into your own pocket if need to..

I am attempting to do this, but what sort of funds are going to be adviseable. I reckon you need 2.5k in there permanently to be close to getting anything sorted. Out of interest. Has anyone out there got a MY99 or similar which has had an engine and gearbox or similar large object rebuilt within one year ??? (Without being daft and wacking boost up to high or running lean etc...)
