Try Riverdale cars near Paddock Wood if you live close, or check out www.riverdalecars.com. They've _usually_ got several Imprezas in stock (I got my 95 WRX from them in August.)
You won't get a car that isn't fully UK-spec (you get an annoying rear foglight, but that's supposed to be easy to migrate to the driver's reverse light - not done mine, yet...)
There's lots of import companies, but I can't comment on how good/bad they are as I've not used any others.
If in doubt, get the RAC to do a once-over.
Cheers,
Paul.

I bought a 94 wrx with 50000 miles on the clock. Problems I have had are as follows:
1. Running rough due to wastegate solenoid being oiled up, caused by having too much oil in the engine. Check the dipstick, it should be half way between upper and lower marks. If it is on the upper mark or above then there is too much.
2. Coil packs - these wear out somewhere between 45 and 60k. Had mine replaced at around 55k and they made so much difference. Car was hesitant, misfiring etc. before. Cost around £200 to buy plus labour of one hour.
3. Oxygen sensor - this also went just after the coils and had similar symptoms. Cost around £250 inc some labour and a diagnostic / ecu reset.
4. Rocker gaskets - these have been done recently, were weeping oil that dripped onto exhaust and made a bad smell. Can't remember cost.
I think that's it. Other than servicing, inc brake discs, pads etc. Make sure these are all in good condition cos they're not cheap.
Hope this helps / doesn't put you off.

be careful of rough running also, could be signs of "MAF" sensor failing, then another 250.00 to add, watch out for enh=gine knock, you dont know how previously treated from cold.
Then, most importantly, find out who in your area will accept it for service, as 99.9% subaru dealers wont go near one. some wont even supply you with parts, let alone place a spanner on it, so do some more groundwork first, make sure you can get full back up in ness.
