Tablets
In the market for a tablet however not really sure what I should be looking for (processor, memeory, storage space etc).
Looking at anything bigger than the 7" screen as it look really small but there are so many companies making tablets nowadays I seem to be spoilt for choice.
Budget is upto about £300
No Apple vs Android vs Windows (has anyone bought a Windows tablet?)fights please ,I don't care about benchmark tests or anything like that as I will be a casual user just using it for surfing and Xbox Smartglass app

If Google ever release the second generation Nexus 10 then it could be worth a look. Maybe wait for a bit.
I'd like a big screen tablet and if I had to choose now it would be between the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition or an iPad Air.

It was £400 though, so out of budget.

I bought a Nexus 7 (1st generation) when my netbook started to play up. Took me about 2 weeks before I ordered a replacement battery for the netbook.
I just can't get on with them for internet browsing. I am actually considering buying a decent laptop now. I just don't get the whole 'tablet' thing.

Cheers guys...budget can be made a bit more just means I don't get one right away which isn't really a problem.
John I believe I may have seen a similar spec one in John Lewis and yes just a bit out of budget
Puff what's the difference between RT and proper Windows 8.1?

Limited app selection, still shunned, small user base
Android ios are the only options in reality

Android's not a lot better, if you're going to buy a tablet buy one that developers actually support, that leaves you two choice, a Windows Tablet running full Windows or an iPad.
If you buy Android you'll waste your money just like Gear Head. They're door stops.

You cant go far wrong with a Galaxy Tab 3 8"
Fast, easy to put your videos and music on, pull out memory card copy across put back in.
I have an ipad since they came out, but the Galaxy is my travel companion.
Mine is a 4G set but a wifi only is well within your budget

(I have windows 8 running on a HP Elite pad)
Just the little things, like the keypad obscuring the Google search box - so you have to type blind
The user experience for web browsing is simply cr4p compared an IPad imo
I reckon I am twice as quick surfing, editing, posting, cutting and pasting on an iPad than the Windows tablet (both using touchscreen obviously)
