I have spent hours and hours trying to jailbreak an iphone 4 without success .Is there a simple way to jailbreak and untethered iphone ?

Did you do a full restore of iOS 7.0.4 using iTunes (backing up before of course) BEFORE trying the jailbreak? There is apparently a problem if you have used OTA (over the air) to install 7.0.x, and it is recommended to do a full restore using iTunes prior to doing anything else.

If you attempt to jailbreak without doing this, phone will get stuck in a reboot loop.

 

I jail broke my iPhone 4 and loved it but did slow the phone down a lot

But haven't got the guts to jailbreak my 5s just yet

 

I have performed all of the above , but evasion just fails to complete its install , so cydia does not appear as an app on my iphone.
