My Nikon Coolpix995 takes some beating, don't know if you saw the "Spider in my garden" thread last week, but that was a good example of its macro capability.
Full aperture and shutter control aswell, its come down in price since I got mine last July.

Cem,
I love my Fuji 6900z, which is being replaced with the S602z in June.
To be honest, try both and see what you think. On dpreview.com, there doesn't seem to be anything in it in image quality despite the Minolta using a 5MP sensor and the Fuji using a 3.3MP "superCCD" sensor that claims to capture 6MP. Despite owning one, I am sceptical of this claim, but 6MP is what I work with
The lens on the Minolta starts at 28mm equiv, which is damn useful compared to the Fuji's 35mm. I think they both end around 200mm or so - the minolta is 7x optical, fuji 6x.
Usability-wise, I think it's hard to beat the Fuji but admittedly I've not tried the Minolta as it was out of my price bracked when I bought.
Do have a look at http://wwww.dpreview.com, especially in the Fuji forums. You'll see the good, bad and ugly in there
Nick.

The Canon Powershot G2 is a superb camera, although it doesn't have such a large zoom range as the Fuji or Minolta. It's the one I would buy - see why at \http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canong2/

Is the 7i a new model? I tried the Dimage 5/7 and didn't like the viewfinder (too jerky) and the autofocus (quicker to do it myself!!). Bought an Olympus E10 in the end which is a real SLR.
Go find one and try it - if they've sorted out the couple of issues then it will be an excellent camera!

IMHO
Best Digi Cam for £500 = Nikon CP 995
Best £800 = Olympus E10 (whilst they're still around)
Best £1200 ish Olympus E20
I get most Cams on dem to play with from the manufacturers.
Canon G2's okay, but look out for the body cracking. :-(
Cheers
