Tesco Hudl, £60 in Clubcard vouchers or £120 in cold hard cash (or use a combination of the two). Just ordered one for the wife and kids, I'm going to get a 10" job once there's some new ones out (specifically the Nexus 10)

That'll be awesome, like the Next one. The biggest shame is people have a bad time with these cheap tablets and assume the iPad experience is the same.

But yes, the nexus 7 is indeed a very good device.

This is true, the build feel isn't a touch on the iPad. The nexus does manage to feel distinctly like it was built from tupperware boxes.
Also i'm finding some of the Android apps don't look/feel quite as professional as those on ios.

I had hoped that developers would have started producing more tablet apps by now but they're mostly just stretched version of phone apps, the downside of users wanting everything from free. Google are supposed to be stepping up support, a separate area on Play is a start I suppose.
The good news is that it's getting harder for people to say iPads are useless.

That being said, a mate of mine has just installed a nexus 7 in the centre console of his navara instead of the headunit and the level of functionality he's got out of it is quite impressive. Like i say, horses for courses.

I prefer the screen on a full size ipad in terms of it's profile as you lose less screen when you have the keyboard present, but right now the Microsoft Surface with its keyboard case is my preference overall.
Only the Nexus 7 is really a Budget out of these though, but I was impressed with the Tesco Hudl, good value for a 16gb 4 core Tablet with sdcard reader, nice screen (1440x900).
PC Advisor really rated it.

I have no need of a tablet as I have a phablet and a PC. Just like some people can manage with the basic software out there for a MAC compared to a PC, many can manage with the limited software on an Android compared to an Ipad.
