Thumbs up

Nothing should happen. Change the jumper, count to 20 (don't power on). Put it back to normal again and it should be reset

Switch off your PC.
Move the jumper to the "clear" pins.
Count to 20.
Move the jumper back to the "normal" pins.
Switch on PC

Or if it's an old rig, remove the lithium battery for a few seconds.

tee hee. I had similar problems.

try changing the battery - yes I know, new mobo, etc, but try it.

Ihad countless problems which resulted in buying a new mobo and ram.

gave up and bought a laptop!

Cool

Do you have the cpu fan plugged into the header on the motherboard?

If you havent the machine will think that the fan has failed.

Don't plug anything too powerful into the header (eg Delta) as you may burn out the header. Any lowish power 3 pin fan could be used as the MB won't know if its attached to the cpu heatsink.

Obviously you will have to power the heatsink fan or you will fry your cpu very quickly especially if its an Athlon.

Cool

The manual for my Abit KR7A-Raid says
"before you clear the CMOS, you have to first turn the power off(including the +5v standby power). Otherwise your system may work abnormally."
