Default The emergence of 'Fandroids'

So after reports of 'Android phone share massive growth 80%', I find myself wondering.

Is Android really all that, or are Android users simply turning into the mindless fanboys/sheep that they spent so much time accusing iPhone users of being?

Android really is all that!

The difference is that as JC quite rightly points out many times, they're cheap and because of that they're easily accessible. That is the only reason for the growth of Android. Apple on the other hand are expensive devices and generally perform no better than their Android counterparts and yet many flock to buy them in order to be, in Apple's word, "cool". That's the crux of it! Hope that explains it.

It's not trolling and it's not really computer related, it should be in Non Scooby as a warning to the public at large. Millions have already been fooled by the Fandroids false promises already, let down by claims of "Better", "Bigger" and "Open" think of the easily swayed children, all that Samsung marketing that always let them down.

Fandyroid isn't even the worse kind, he's keyboard based, cut and pasting anything Anti- Apple, the real danger are the ones lurking in Tesco and other supermarket chains, stood by the coffee machine, just waiting to pounce on the easily swayed... the Sheeple.

I always laugh at these type of threads.

Who gives a **** what someone else likes, if you like an android phone then go and buy an android phone, if you like apple then buy an iphone.

It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, your the one using it so if you like it then thats all that matters. Jack is good for a windup tho.

Of course it is, substitute Apple/Android for Sony/MS, Canon/Nikon etc etc.

I'm not necessarily a "fandroid" but i hate Apple. Last night i tried to update the software in my wife's iPod (she got a new mobile yesterday so doesn't need it , and i am using it as my phone is away for repair) as a few apps said they wouldn't work on the iPod , and some said i needed updated software. What a confusing and obstructive device . It feels like they own you and the device and it has to be their way or not at all. Maybe its just i am not used to it , but it pissed me right off. I gave it back to her and wont be using it again.

Imagine owning either type of device, being glad it works and not giving a flying f*** about the other platform.

Just imagine...

So, rather than the earlier rant "my iPod is too old to run some new apps" would have done.

Why not? I've been an Orange customer for years, granted initially the coverage wasn't great but these days it's fine.

you dont get calls failing to connect, calls dropping or text messages saying 'such and such rang but left no message' when your phones sat there, your not on it and it has full signal?

I get the 'such and such rang' messages but when I genuinely didn't have a signal when they rang and the only time I've had calls fail to connect was when using an iPhone. Even then it wasn't that frequent.
