Google maps on Android, can you download full maps for offline use ?

Default Google maps on Android, can you download full maps for offline use ?
Ive been trying to download a full UK map to use offline on google maps but it only seems to let you download small parts of a map, am i missing something obvious or doesn't it let you download a full maps of countries ?

As far as I know, you just download sections.

That isn't to say someone out there hasn't made it possible to download the whole lot?

good old google maps..I google earthed my house yesterday....my P1 was still in the garden...I sold it in 2005

I use Nav free for offline maps https://play.google.com/store/apps/d....OSM.ALL&hl=en

Works fine for me

i use co pilot maps stored on memory card - i used it in lanzarote on my phone with no data active. its great and it was erm free
