Broadband speed test.
I've had my fibre optic installed today but my current app for my phone and tablet only goes up to 20 meg. Are there any accurate ones designed for mobile devices which don't require flash player? My laptop says I'm getting 69 meg at the mo......big difference from 2

What's wrong with flash! I thought it was the best thing on android.
Even with the iPhone app I won't get the same speed as my mac basically down to device limitation

Being wireless isn't affecting mine much. Like I said, on my laptop on the first day I've had between 40 and 69 meg...just want to see what tablet and phone are doing. Speedtest.net only goes to 20 meg!!!!!!

I thought Sky only did the 40Mbps fibre so I went the web page to look. Boy are they unhelpful, failed to see what the max speed was for the normal product but saw you could get a Pro product, click to see what that offers and all it says is
Oh so that's what the extra 10'er is for!
I'm with Plusnet, 19.99 for unlimited up to 80/20 Mbps (I only get about 52/10) with ~£10 for my line rental as I paid a year up front.
If you have even higher internet demands, you should try Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro. It costs £30 a month with Sky Talk Weekends and Sky Line Rental (£14.50 a month), and is available to Sky Broadband customers in selected Sky Fibre areas.

it is usually the wireless that limits devices, proper speedtest use a wired connection to router. my iphone5 gets a much higher speed than my ipad on the same network.
wireless depends on chipset used and other devices on the wifi network.
i use speedtest and see 41mb on ipad3 and 57 on iphone5, pc i see about 65mb.

There was an article on BBC news last week about SKy broadband saying people were suffering because Sky had added too many people without ensuring they had sufficient capacity. Worth a look.
