Thinking about a steering wheel set-up
Could do with a bit of steer (!) please
Considering getting a steering wheel set-up for my PC. Don't want to spend too much (so no Fanatec options) so considering a second hand G25 or G27.
Wanted to ask though whether the Driving Force GT is a decent alternative. http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/2049...FaTMtAod90YA4g
Obviously don't get gears or clutch, but do many games use them?
Oh - and anyone interested in selling a second-hand G25 or G27?
Cheers
Richard.

Some of the Richard Burns Rally updates and realistic textures look superb.
I think I will go for a G25/G27 - shame they seem to go for such a high price. G25's are still getting £140 on ebay. Sometimes a G27 comes up on offer, so might just be patient and get a new one if it drops under £180.

Wheels are fun, but holding them somewhere is a pita lol
Ands unless theyve changed, pedals used to be cack,
They operated in a totally alien way to a car set up, meaning you drove like a flatfooted baloon stomper.
If they now replicate a modern car, that would be great

Logitech G25/27 is the only option and a wheelstand. Its simply an awesome setup. Logitech pedalset is pretty close to reality now mart.
G25/27 has gears n clutch, well should have. Yep GT5 uses clutch and so do any decent PC sims like GTR/GTR2, cant remember if burns rally does.

Good shout on the stand. I was going to put it on the desk but that looks much better - plus easier to put away too.
I think Burns Rally has gears - pretty sure I saw some chap on youtube playing with them.

Yea its really good mate, worth the money, very good build and quality and its really sturdy. Uses clamps, steering is height adjustable and the pedals sit on a sliding/clamped thing. And as u say u can fold it away with or without the wheel still attached.
Yes you can clamp the wheel and the gearchanger to a desk, works well to.
