Default Help which Hard Drive

Need to replace hard drive in a Dell Vostro 220s. According to the Dell website it says its fitted with a HARD DRIVE 160GB SERIAL ATA.

Can I replace with a SATA I, II or III?

Any advice appreciated.

As above any will do.

Another performanve choice would be a 120gb ssd drive replacement.
Pcworld of all places are selling ocz agility3 drives for 64.99 at the moment. These make regular hard drives look very slow.
Just picked up another today for my work laptop.

I can recommend the Seagate 750GB Momentus XT wholeheartedly.

It's expensive but seriously speeds up boot and shutdown on my work Win 7 laptop. However, it took a lot of faffing trying to copy the partition from my old drive owing to differences in sector (or, if you are American, sectOR ) sizes.

In fact, it's so fast, I have bought one as a boot drive for my high end desktop which has 5 other drives totalling around 8TB.

They do do a 500GB drive but, iirc it is less capable than the 750 - can't remember in what way though.
