Hi Guys,
Do any of you use the PC for on line gaming?
Maybe COD, or BF3?
If so, lets all get together and have a laugh.

I do PC gaming, can't stand the new CoD Black Ops though, ******* dogs do my head in!!
I have BF3 but got bored of that last year (or was it this year?) can't remember now lol
I'm playing Far Cry 3 just now mostly Co-op but it's not exactly setting my life on fire so to speak.
I don't even know of any games due to be released in the near future that I'm looking forward to either.

For out of the box easy gaming, you cant beat a console and never will. However, if you crave something more and have a few quid to waste on that craving, then you could build something like this.
Resolution on the PC tends to be like this.
But for me its the smoothness, My monitors refresh at 120hz and my cards are drawing the screen at 5760x1200 at 200+ FPS. its unrivalled, and makes a Bluray 24P movie seem jerky. LOL

Thanks Dunk, it is a pretty serious piece of kit now.
Spent far too much time and money on it really but I got the bug for benchmarking again and took that step onto the slippery bloody slope.

The consoles are good gfx wise when they first get released but they are old now and PC gfx are way ahead. The difference between BF3 on PS3 and PC is like night and day. I wish I had built a new rig for the release of BF3. Didnt stop me racking up almost 500hrs on PS3 until it broke

What's that last game you've got a screen shot of Stu?
If I'm playing online I tend to stick with PC games, not really had that many successful console online games (last decent series was Forza 2 with the scoobynet lot).
BF3 mainly. Tried and completed Far Cry 3 and that left me with a big taste of meh in my mouth.

Problem with PC gaming is you need to update at least the vid card to next best generation card each 1-2 years just to keep up. Unless you are into PC's as a hobby like Stu is, it's a bit of a mugs game now when you can buy a console for the third of the price of one decent PC gfx card. I stopped doing it a few years ago now. Also the titles available which can take advantage of the latest hardware is getting smaller and smaller as a lot of them are just direct ports from the console variants.

Totally agree mate, its hard work and a lot of frustration at the best of times as early adopters of new hardware like myself are constantly beta testing for the likes of AMD who release products before they are mature enough to cope in the market.
I have only just got these damn 7970's to work properly in every game, and I bought them almost a year ago for a tad under £1500. Probably not worth a toss now... should have just stuck with what I had, after they also frustrated me for a year before they worked properly. LOl

I've just downloaded Planetside 2 tonight and found it ok to play, a bit complicated what to do/where to go but it's ok considering it's a free download from Steam.

Bo2 (though CoD seems to be the worst hacked game series of all time) and BF3 for me, now that I have xfire 7950's I can actually play BF3 in ultra at 60fps in 6000x1200
Got FC3 too but still getting into that.
