Samsung should have your update ready in a few months.

"this newly-identified issue is far more severe, since it could allow apps downloaded from the Google Play Store an easy way to exploit the devices."
Jon, comparing this to a slack bit of coding in an app you can delete is a bit rich.

I'm still on iOS 5
Really sick and tired of constant/regular updates on pretty much anything I have that has a microprocessor. FFS even my TV has to do 'updates' and we just had to do a firmware update on the battery charger at work FFS
Just f***ing make the product and test it right in the first place before releasing it to the public and be done with it.

My Galaxy s2 updated its operating system at the weekend and i still havent got used to it yet. Its like the 1st day i got it. My homescreen has all the factory widgets on , with none of my app icons. My 2 music playlists are gone , it installed crappy games , gave me google apps that i cant delete and everything just feels different.

I downloaded all my old apps from the Google Play Store, the performance of this Rom for speed (now matches the One X+ in benchmarks), also a greatly improved, super smooth browsing experience.

You mean it wasn't perfect and iPhone killing before!! You lied to these people when you said it was better, and now you're using voodoo to make it work. Not very nice of you.

I'll get the Samsung ones, look exactly the same - user experience may differ - free on a contract. Only £600 a month for 4 years.

Can't be an iSheep. Maybe a Mac sheep as they sell far more than any PC. Samsung phones are far more popular than Apple, it's the choice of the masses, the masses of sheep. Oh how the tables have turned.

WOW smartphone in security flaw shocker!
Only possibly to affect specific versions though so not a massive issue, also a fix is available already (not that anyone has mentioned any apps that do this exploit and no one has mentioned any infections etc etc and no one has mentioned the fact that the play store looks for this kind of app behaviour)
Should read the follow up articles as well Jack you my learn more about it bet you maps 6 or whatever it's called directed you to that link, you know just giving you part of the information

That's excellent news Jay, where do we get the fix? The last I heard Samsung were having a think about it. Will the phone update itself?

serious no **** taking post about this comment (for once lol)
Alot of folks buy and build, aka buy the components and build there own PC.
Most of the sales figures seem to be off the shelf units, most of the folks i know buy to build as well, so i would bet that is a bigger market than off the shelf. Wonder what motherboard sales are like, new MB = new PC.
