Help needed please with wireless network repeater
Iv bought a netgear wndr3400 router with the intentions of using it as a wireless repeater to my other router to save running wires everywhere as i want to connect few things in my av cupboard to the net
But for some reason the router i have bought of ebay is that complicated that my basic knowledge of computers and networking is lost
I thought all i would have to do is put in the mac address of my main router give it an ip address and off we go but no and when i give it a new ip address i carnt log onto it again i have to reset it
so just one or to questions if anyone can help
• Can i use a NETGEAR WNDR3400 as a wireless repeater on a ORANGE BRIGHTBOX
• If so can someone please tell me how or point me in the right direction

Have you connected the WNDR3400 to your Orange brightbox with a network cable? (sorry I don't know what an Orange bright box is) I'm guessing it's a combined ADSL/Router.
I guess you've got the manual from here: http://www.downloads.netgear.com/fil..._23MAR2010.pdf
i.e. you need to be connected like fig 8 on P.18.
You'll then need to login to the WNDR3400 as shown in the manaul and configure it.
I can't be 100% that it will work with your Orange hardware but it's worth a go.
