A bit of a Retro moment ...young people need not look :)
Had a great RETRO IT moment yesterday.
Had a client with an old PM G5 which recently had all the data migrated to a new iMac. All well and good I hear you say except to do the data migration I had to upgrade the OS from 10.4 to 10.5. In doing so the old G5 now couldn't boot into classic and surprise surprise client wanted his mailing lists retrieved which are in....<drumroll> Clarisworks !!!!.
So had to rebuild the mac using some old discs that I have not used in..ohh many years. Lets say 11 years Still have a CD case which in the day was worth over £3K , has every known OS and app mac and PC..luckily still keep it in the boot of my scoob in case of a rainy day
including this bad boy
Installed classic and amazingly even software update found some classic updates !
All rebuilt a few hours later and working. Then he wants to print out the mailing lists..well classic cant see latest printers so out comes a copy of Acrobat 5.0. Nice, try finding a serial number for that
Anyway all done and I was a little misty eyed with all the memories
