Default Dropbox text editor for IOS?

I have found one free one that works but it puts the text files in a new folder when I just wanted to save back to the root of dropbox and overwrite the original file.

Anyone recomend good text editors that work with dropbox that can save back to the root instead of havidng to have an app specific folder in dropbox that it has to link to?

It's this sort of nonsense that tempts me to get a Nexus 7 to use for productivity tasks as everything seems so much easier, I believe android's dropbox has a built in text editor for example. But then it's ridiculous to have 2 tablets, the price drop on the Nexus is what makes it so tempting though!

I use an app called Cloudon that lets you create / open documents from your dropbox and select which folder etc etc.

Cheers, I've had that ages and never used it. Just tried and it doesn't support .txt files. Made a copy of the file to a word doc so could open it in Cloudon and that worked but then can't read the .doc file in dropbox and would always have to read it in Cloudon

Absolutely terrible something so simple is so difficult to achieve on Apple devices. My Son is over this weekend and going to try dropbox on his Nexus 7 and if it 'just works' then i'll be very tempted to go out and get one.

Tried dropbox on my Son's Nexus 7 and it just worked, editors for everything all linking in seemlessly with dropbox. So much easier than IOS but at least there is a solution by changing text files to .doc format and using cloudon although not ideal.
