Has anyone experienced a problem where all playback of MP3 files is speeded up by around 15%?
Was asked to help sort it out by a friend - she's running W2k and Real Player 5, which I installed at Christmas. All was running fine with both downloaded and ripped MP3's at that point.
At some point since then, this problem developed.
I uninstalled and re-installed the player - no change. I downloaded and installed the current Winamp player. Still same problem.
I'm baffled - please help!

I've seen this before but on .avi files - try getting and installing the latest driver for your soundcard.
(To be honest, I can't exactly remember how we fixed this problem, but am 95% sure it's the driver)

It could be your hard disk. If you use a 15000rpm hard disk the hard disk spins quicker than a 10000rpm one, and the data flies off quicker, and hence the mp3 will play quicker.
