Tablets .... NOT Viagra!!
I know I probably need the blue diamond tablet for Ting Tong - but, this time, the Tablet market .......
There is a new Nexus7 32Gb coming out tomorrow at around £200 .... the 16Gb can now be had for £160 - and the 8Gb has disappeared into the £99 bargain bucket.
I'm no sheep - so it's no Apple overpriced product for me ...... this ASUS Nexus7 - any good?
I know it's not 3G - but Ting Tongs phone is and can be thethered to the Nexus7 for unlimited internet at £10 a month ......
Should I buy - or is the upcoming Nexus10 worth waiting for?
Seems Apple is going to get blown out the water with these Google Tablets?
What do you reckon?

I have heard about the death of the iPad before - and knew it wasn't about to happen, THEN!
But, now, with the likes of Google and ASUS and Samsung holding the pistols - I'm afraid that the Apple Pi55take of its Customers may well be over.
there should be big HOORAYS!! going up all over the world ..... Apple may well have to stop rogering their faithful deluded supporters.....

Personally I find it bizarre, but there you go ... Apple HAVE got that market sewn up.
(for disclosure, I have an iPad as well, but don't use it that much)

I find that so many people are more interested in not being a 'sheep' that they overlook the fact that the Apple product is actually the better product. I'm not a sheep, the only apple product I have is an iPhone, that's because it's the best. I don't need a tablet but if I did it would be an iPad without a shadow of a doubt. I'd tried out loads and no matter how you see it, the iPad wins it hands down. No other tablet seems as smooth or as fast or as easy. They have it down to a tee.
Shame they are so pricey.

Pete,
No matter what tablet you get you will find there is a pixel or something which doesn't work and will spend the next 12 months complaining and going on a crusade through the small claims court so just crack on, buy some cheap thing off QVC or whatever and let the fun begin.

I find its the best for me anyway, believe me I wanted to get a cheaper phone like the Samsungs or the htc's but none seem to work as smooth or flawlessly. Same with the tablets, those ones always seem jumpy and difficult to get used to. Plus most people I know that have android products tend to have to replace them or fix them as they seem to wrong a lot more.
Opinion I suppose.

The new Nexus tablets have not been released yet.
I just find it amazing how companies can charge £650 for a mobile phone and then only £250 for a tablet?
Very odd.

Bloody hell giving decent advice to Lewis, so here goes.
I have the Nexus 7 16gb, I use all the time for reading, playing videos and internet browsing. The benefits over most of other tablets is it has a excellent spec, far more than you would expect for the price.
Don't get a full size tablet, they are not portable enough, basically a slim laptop in size, where as the 7" fits a woman's bag, even your back trouser pocket. The Nexus 7 will run all day from a full charge.
The ones I would consider are
Kindle fire 7HD
Nexus 7
Samsung galaxy tab 7
The Nexus 7 is the most free to manipulate/alter settings due to it being direct from Google, it will have the latest update first and for longer
The least versatile will be the Kindle fire HD, it uses the same Android OS but is locked down in features from Amazon, but is still a cracking piece of kit.

If Ting Tong has a 'Very' account, she will be able to use a discount code to get £20 off.
£179.00 for the Nexus 32GB can't be bad!

No, I don't jest ..... a Tablet runs out of battery power LONG before a dedicated e-reader (the SONY has been charged up 3 times in 12 months!).

Granted - but the only use sought was that of an e-reader.
Now, Tablets are much cheaper - and a clear winner has emerged - it's time to jump into the Google pit.

I'm with PSL on this; tablets are all well and good, but for just reading books an e-reader is very hard to beat.
My commute bears this out; many tablet wavers will also carry a Kindle for when they want a read.
