Pah.. the Ibms are cr@p... compared to a compaq dl360 you just balance the ibm's in a rack... We use compaq for intel based mission critical stuff , and IBM for the citrix farm... One neat thing is that you dont need a kvm... just daisy chain between boxes... shame about the position of the switch (next to power or reset)

Actually, saying that, we've had the motherbords changed twice on all 3 servers in the last 18 months
With the latest change (last week) none of the lights on the front of the box work, a feature apparently Whats all that about ?!

I just saw 10 Compaq EVO's in a customers rack running as small servers they are horrible chrome silver finish.
Anyhow they will be replaced by some nice solid Fujitsu Siemens servers by the end of next week and I will take great pleasure in doing something nasty to those chrome boxes.

As far as I can remember the only things I I've had compaq in for were a replacement fibre channel switch (redundant anyway), a cd-rom drive and the usual disk failures..
As for the power supplys and hard disks in the new sff compaq evo desktops..
Edited to add that theres at least 80 compaq servers..
