You could go for the GTX 690 , not exactly cheap though even second hand. Personally my experience of 2nd hand nividas has not been great though.

i forgot to add, with this card in the CCC control centre, when playing games, i can only use half the card. from what i have been told/found out it is a driver problemand i can not get a driver to work. and if it is not turned off, when i load a game i get a bsod.

how would the 550ti compair? or does anyone have any for sale please

Check the Amazon under used and maybe you will find good one,HD6850 will be good too for you,is slightly slower than HD5870

The 5870 is actually quicker than the 6850 (in everything) & the 6870 (in some tests).

 

it would be worth saving a little longer, as this looks like a good one (HIS HD 7850 IceQ X 2048MB GDDR)
