Default Blu-ray player and HDD problem.

Trying to use my Panasonic DMP-BDT210 to watch MKV files via USB from a 2TB western digital HDD. Problem is that I had to format the HDD to FAT32 which doesn't accept files over 4GB which most of the MKV files are.

Is there a work around on this as it really has put a fly in my ointment.

So the bluray player only supports fat32?

If that's correct you can do it by splitting the Mkv but that would be a huge time consuming ball ache.

Media server is your only real option I think - I have the same problem with my PS3.

I use MKV2VOB to convert my MKV's to a playable format on the PS3. There is an option to split into 4gb increments. Annopying, but if you must do it, it only takes a few minutes per filr, and you can batch them too.
