XP - 'Windows Delayed Write Error'

I keep getting this error for various files. The message normaly says data has been lost.

But the machine seems fine

I did have a funny 1/2 hour with my pc the other week when I had to boot from the cd and reinstall the boot thingey. Sorry thats not that techie.

Dave,

It could be a hardware problem (which drive is it?) or an OS problem. See here for some further usful info (see the suggested fix at the bottom of the page).
