Default In Ear Headphones

Ok so over the years ive had many a set and have always been searching for the best ones. I always got a good sound from SOny in ears and creative, and found that the less commercial names like Shure Etymoic etc were pretty dire.

so over the last 2 years ive tested and bought a few in ears

Etymoic Micro pro 4p
beyedynamics 101s
Sony Mdr EX 500s

out of the above 3 the etys were 200+ and to be honest total and utter ****e, Bass is none exsistant they are very clear but very crap, they use whats called armature technology but dont even go there , there crap.

The beyers get 5 starst in what hifi and although sound ok seem to have too much middle so i dont like them they were 60 quid.

I also bought the sonys 60 quid and they were great

so this week i bought sonys flagship MDR EX1000s and oo my god, how good are these little gems.

If anybody wants a perfect in-ear headset get these there alot though 270 quid.

very full bass deep to the point you feel it, very crisp treble and great Mids.

The high-end shures dont come close ive tried them too

I have a meeting soon with Logiutech and im trying to blagg to triple 10s out of them, But i hazard a guess they wont come close to the sonys.

Rant over

Ted

Shure and Beyer are some of the best in the business tbh.

I've got a cheapo set of Sonys at the moment which are ok, but nowt special. When I want to listen to stuff properly, I use my ACS T1s.

But the problem with IEMs is (a) suitability to the task at hand and (b) subjective sound quality.
Some people think that £10 sh1tty ipod earbuds sound amazing. I personally think that these people must have **** in their ears or have very low standards for audio quality

lol true, I totally agree on the Beyer and Shure aspect, i have the shure 840 cans which are superb, and beyer 880s are also supposed to be the dogs

but for me the beyers best IEM are not great but then again only 60 quid, Shures 535s are good, but prone to breaking badley and shures support so ive seen isnt mega.

Id like Shures to try but i wouldnt buy them, I knew that if i liked the 500s id get the 1000s,

Ive got a meeting with the european director for Logitech in 2 weeks, and they own Ultimate Ears, ive stressed for me to let them into the business where i work id like to errrr test some triple 10s

I messed around with in ear headphones for a while...

I eventually bit the bullet and got myself a set of customs from Unique Melody..That's a lie as I got two sets ....

First pair have 3 drivers in each and in a clear case..the other set have 6 drivers in each and are in a smoked case....

Treat yourself...Alan..

Look good Guiness - have you tried the ACS T1s? They're around the same price.

I've not tried them..I did get a set of custom sleeves for my Shure SE530's from them..

I was not very keen on them as they are made from silicone instead of having a hard shell..
Also the cable is not detachable which is another problem waiting to happen...

I bet they sound good though...lol..

yeh, I went for silicone rather than the hard shell, as I need to wear them on stage of long periods. But there's pros and cons for each type.

and yes, they're quite pleasant
