Has anyone managed to make it work ? I can't on mine and don't undertand why it doesn't. Mic and speakers are working and the PC is fine.
Any pointers ?

Are you using this behind a firewall? Most companies block this type of traffic for fear of their bandwidth. If you are using it at home simply mail the person you want to chat with by adding them to your MSN Messenger control area - add contact. When they accept your request you can start to chat, or even use a web cam.

Mine works. Had problems with XP built-in firewall and ZoneAlarm. Switched off the XP firewall and installed Sygate personal firewall instead and can now use voice and webcams no problem

ZoneAlarm caused me no end of grief. Give it a go, Sygate Personal Firewall is much better IMO too
I tried uninstalling ZoneAlarm then connected to my mates computer no probs. Then installed SPF and still worked, so was well happy.
