Ram : 2 by 1gb of Kingston value
PSU : Pico plus laptop brick
Hdd : WD Scorpio Blue 250gb
The full project log is over on Bit-tech

D'oh should have clicked the link. Seeing that makes it even more impressive.
I'm in the market for a HTPC build, but would like to keep it small and simple like that. Currently have an Acer Revo R3700, not for HTPC, but using it generally, I think i'd want a custom build like that. I'm saying that, because those Zotacs were off a simular speac I think.
It looks like you have a couple of F-connectors on there, for digital TV, so I take it you can record. 250GB is quite small for that, assuming you use video files too. Or do you not recod, ans stream all your movies from elsewhere?

There's a fan under the motherboard .
And a vent on the top of the cover .
I don't use the fan on my build ... the Zotac is quite happy just running on the cpu fan .
The fan is really for use with passively cooled boards ( I've made a few up for friends )

This Zotacs a dual core Celeron so very similar the the Acer , dual core Atom ? The Celeron is a bit snappier though you notice it scrolling through menus etc on XBMC .
The onboard hdd just holds the install of XBMC and one of Ubuntu . I use it to stream movies from a server , when I say server I mean an old dell in the cellar running Freenas

TBH I'm not sure on the total hardware costs for this one , the board was from ebay so half price and various other bits came out of other builds .
The last HTPC that I bought bit for was this one .....
The spec for this is :
Mobo , ASUS AT3IONT-I Deluxe - £150.oo ( inc lap top brick and ir remote )
2 x Kingston 1GB DDR3 1066MHz - £15.oo
Western Digital 120GB 2.5" Hard Drive - £25.oo
Xilence Red Wing 80mm Quiet Fan - £3.oo
Switch , cables , fixings etc about £25.oo
Case materials - Free , off cuts from work
So about £220.oo BUT that was before Thailand got all wet and hdd prices went silly .
This set up runs XBMC very nicely , not quite as quick as the Zotac but good enough Funnily enough it's because people were asking me for this one that the whole Rebox thing came about .
I think the hardware in both these builds should be up to live TV and recording but I don't really know .
As this just streams from a server XBMC works very well . For recording and live tv you need something like Myth TV not something I've used yet . I'm going to give it a go when I rebuild my server .
You also need TV cards etc . No room in these for them is the idea is to keep the box small and quiet
