the motherb has a 24 pin, 8 pin and a 4 pin molex one on it.

on my new power supply i have used a 4+4 pin for the 8 pin socket

what one is the ATX please?

dont think i said, but comp was working, and then one day it stopped. no power to it. i changed the power lead fuse, but it tripped the house fuse box.

so ordered a new power supply and now it wont turn on

ohhhh that don't sound good .. normally if there is an issue with the motherboard they bleep to indicate what might be wrong ..
for it to blow the main house fusebox i think you might have other pc issues now... as for what i wouldnt like to say or guess ...

Usually I remove the battery, leave for 24 hours and re-build. It's usually linked to the failure to run through a BIOS startup fully.

HTH

dunx

P.S. Check all the pins in all the power connectors for burning, and the board for damage - electrical burning and/or loose parts in the case causing a short.

ok..
i would unplug everything from the board except the power supply.. all hard drives, optical drives, keyboard, mouse no graphics card just leave the on/off switch connected .. if it then fires up and stays up turn it off and add the memory (one stick at a time if you have more than 1) do the same again, add one part at a time.
might find an issue with something .. i know power supplys turn off if they detect a short out on any of the outlets, but pure guesswork if it does not bleep.

Q6600 is great CPU and will be much faster in some application than your previous 8400

power supply (new ocz zs 750)
mobo (second hand of ebau)
ram (second hand off ebay)
graphics card, a lod card and current card
processor.

whats next. i get the same error code on the card that is 9.0 abd from what i have seen it is the bios or power supply

if you have changed the mobo and processor to the ebay ones then there must be something wrong with either the power supply or connections to the mobo.
have you done the plugging things in one by one and trying them ?

i think it could be my new power supply.

we tried it in my dads fully working pc. it booted up and then acted like mine does now. we put his old power supply back in, but its not working now.

this is looking like the power supply has buggered up 2 computers.

it is a ocz zs 750. i got it new from dabs
