Default PC to Galaxy s2 music transfer ??

Guys trying to transfer mp3 files I have on my windows xp pc onto my son`s Samsung galaxy s2, have connected the phone to the pc via usb, opened up the file structure and I have a long list showing from Android to Videomaker, was under the impression I simply right clicked on this and made a new folder- named it " music " and simply transfered the mp3 tracks from pc to the phone but cant seem to make a new folder ??

want to put the mp3 files on the phones own built in memory as opposed to putting them on an sd card.

any advice on the correct usb transfer process ??

cheers

select connect mass storage on phone when you connect cable...
should get 2 devices appear, one for thee phone and one for the memory card if installed.
copy all music to media folder.
all ofmine play ok from there.

The Wanted! Your taste in music is bad!

I had this the other day when I tried to paste to my desktop from the phone but it would paste to another folder. Think its a security thing. Tried another folder?

I couldn't get the S2 to show in XP either.

It works fine when connecting to Win7 / Vista

Got it !!

1)Dont plug it in yet
2) Tap settings
3) Wifi and networks
3) USB mode (or something like this)

Then it should come up with a button, connect to pc, hit that, then plug it in. It will appear like a flash drive.

all transfered onto sons phone now - now how do I find the music I have put on the phone ??!! put it within media folder as advised.
