Default iTunes help!

OK, purchased films/music and Apps on my old laptop and imported hundreds of tracks to it. The laptop has gone capput and the files are now seen as MP4 files and cannot be recognised for some crazy reason! I now have a new laptop and am trying to shift the old stuff onto the new but to no avail! The films are moving over as 'copy only' when I try to import them to the new iTunes on the new computer. Thought it would be a simple drag and drop. I have no idea what is going on and wonder if anyone else has experienced this?

Hope I haven't lost it all!

If you purchased anything from iTunes then I am sure that you can re-download the music/apps etc. for free, I think the option is within the drop down options at the top of iTunes store page.

Sorry I can't tell you exactly where to find it but I know the option is available.

Grab a copy of DiskAid, plug in the iPod and there should be a music section in the app that allows you to copy the music from the iPod to the computer.

You can then add the resulting files to iTunes.
