Default Gmail App

Well, what a crock. I've been waiting for the Gmail app for a good while, especially after hearing how email on Android is so much better than the iPhone.

First impressions, Error Message on startup, must be my phone, restart, error message, app works without notifications, app pulled from the app store! Great experience Google, good work.

It's not very good at all anyhow, more like a port from the Gmail website with a few tweaks.

Why bother? Easier to simply add the gmail account as a new mail account surely?

It does seem to make hard work of adding email accounts, not sure why.

Does apple not vet and test all of their own hardware / operating systems before releasing them?

(Getting moaned at on an hourly because the ios5 update has slowed the missus iPad to a crawl and battery life is now terrible)

Of course they do, but no testing can ever be completely exhaustive.

But better than the app

More an more people I know are using Iphones for business use, including someone I know who's entire working day centres around emails and she loves it.

I've got 2 gmail accounts and an icloud account running simultaneously on mine and they all work fine with zero issues. The only downside is that you can't have more than one signature, which may be where Jack is coming from.
