Default Xbox 360

Well been trying to get my 360 to play but the 3 rrod won't go even after trying the cotton buds trick (worked a few months ago but haven't used it since).

Are there any other 360s which don't suffer from this (or other) problem as there seem to be a few versions out there - black ones, slim, latest vesion?

Just want to make sure if i buy another it wont go the same way

Where is the best place to buy a new console (supermarkets have them cheap)?

Thanks

If you buy a new one they don't suffer from. The jasper models were the ones to stop the rrod. Manufactured around summer 2009

if you get a new shape xbox you will need a transfer cable costing 15 quid. I'll be getting a new shape xbox when mine dies. its heating up a lot now.

I ve my xbox showing the RROD and I looked at the kits on ebay, I then watched the video on youtube on how to repair it and decided I couldnt be bothered. I had already bought a new xbox so setting aside say 2 hours to repair an old xbox seemed stupidity

Im sure I saw somewhere that the old HDDs did fit if you took all the plastic off them, might be wrong though.

Dont bother with a trnasfer cable

a good 4-8gb USb atick will suffice

All you need is all your profile and games saves, backgrounds etc....

All the rest will either need re downlaoding or reinstalling.

And make sure you transfer your DRM licences when you transfer everything
