Blueray with iplayer etc?
Thinking of getting a blueray player now.
At the mo we have sharp lcd 26" 720, will we notice any difference when DVD's are upscaled? just using a cheapo dvd player at mo via scart.
It would be good to be able to access I-player, u-tube etc any recommendations.we have 7-8mb line speed.
Also would it be worth getting a 3D ready one for when we decide to change the TV
Looking for a fast startup time as well.
Cheers Ray

Got a Panasonic myself, has iPlayer, YouTube, etc. but I think the other brands (Samsung, Sony etc.) may be a bit more advanced on the Internet side of things. Didn't bother me that much as I plan to put together a home cinema PC at some point. It's 3D ready and has built in Wi-Fi
The one I have is of the home cinema in a box variety (SC-BTT370) but the standalone DMP-BDT310 is supposed to be very good.

The Sony PS3 is a good all-rounder for the features you want, plus of course the bonus of playing games and excellent future support.
The Sony S380 also comes highly rated and fits the bill, does iPlayer etc . . . but not 3D:

You'll notice more of a difference moving from Scart to HDMI, but DVD upscaling will be more noticeable on a larger TV.
Also have a look at the current Panasonic models which are very popular. Depending on budget, there are a lot of good machines out there.

Pretty hard to beat LG's lineup at the mo, The LG BD660 would be my pick if bang for buck is a major driving force behind your purchase.
I recently got a Pioneer BDP-140, biggest piece of **** ever. Currently trying to get Pioneer to realise its a piece of **** and give me my money back. Luckily I couldn't get anyone to buy my ol' faithful blu-ray player or I'd be pretty cheesed off at the mo.

I cant recall exact model of Sony I have S360 I think - cheap & cheerful. Works well but the startup time is pretty poor at least in comparison to when I had my PS3 in the lounge. Even loading DVDs is slow.
