Angry Monitor not getting a signal

When I turn my pc on the computer boots up but the monitor does not turn on, it just goes to standby. It was working fine yesterdaywent to turn it on and nothing. Has my graphics card packed up?

Cheers

Could be gfx card, or the monitor or the cable. Most modern monitors detect the signal from the PC. From experience I've found that no signal is usually a gfx card issue. All the monitors I'd had that fail usually show strange artifacts on screen, dodgy colours or small desktops that don't fill the screen. But crucially they have displayed something.

You'd need to isolate it to be sure. I usually connect the monitor to another PC (and the PC to a different test monitor).

I had this happen to mine a few months ago. Turned out that it was the power supply lead to the graphics card. Unplugged it, reseated the card, and plugged it back in again. All been fine since.

Cheers guys I'll check the card and connections. I've tried another monitor on the computer but wouldn't connect. I've also tried changing the connections from DVI to VGA and nothing happened.
