I still have my old K800i locked to Vodaphone. Had a Google and got hold of xs++ but need to get debranded firmware and work out how to unlock it.

Anyone have any experience/knowledge on doing such a thing and where to get the firmware etc?

I think is out there sw called Freedom Reloaded,which can do this,just search on torr...,NZB,rapidshare etc.

Have look for SETOOL UNLOCK DB2020,which is able to unlock too

I haven't tried yet got bored of reading a load of useless links. I will try it soon, just been too busy playing with other toys

I want to unlock it and also debrand it but need firmware to do so and that is what I couldn't find.

Thanks, yes I know but I don't want to pay for someone else to do it when it can be done for free - i'm not spending any bloody money on the thing.

Well at last I got round to doing this. I found Wotan server offers it free. It has sorted out the phone lock and debranded the phone but for some reason nothing seems to be able to remove the vodafone network lock from the phone.

Also there are upto 5 European regions listed 1-5 for each firmware. Am I correct in thinking UK is region 2?

I got it unlocked with a quick phone call to Vodafone for free Once over 12 months old they don't charge for doing it. At least messing with the above allowed me to find a way of debranding it so it's finally debranded and unlocked all for free.
