blackberry update problem

hi guy my son has just done an update on his 8520 it stopped half way through now he can turn it on hes just getting 3 quick flashing red lights does anyone know how to fix it cheers

Just a word of advice when updating BlackBerry phones - have patience. You need to have a good charge in the battery and need to be prepared to wait whilst it reboots after the flash; the handset takes an absolute AGE to reboot, and if you pull the lead too early you get the symptoms shown above.

If he continues to get problems, please give me a shout; I mess with BlackBerry handsets on a daily basis, so have probably experienced a lot of the problems out there.
