Default HP Tablet: $99

BestBuy in the US just reduced the price of the HP Tablet down to $99 for 16gb and $149 for 32gb.

Sold out online, but if you fancy one and know someone in the US ...

Yep they were selling them in our staff online shop and the server crashed and it is still not responding to logins. We got an email from the shop saying they are all sold out. reason they are so cheap is to get rid of them as we are not going to be making anymore.

Why would you buy one when no applications will be developed and no updates will be provided.

I warned you'd be a mug to buy one, Playbook is next for the chop.

They are available in-store from tomorrow morning. Reserve&Collect has been set to 0 I believe, so you'll just have to turn up and see..

I work for HP and our staff shop sold out within one day and the server was down for most fo the day due to traffic. It was still down this morning and when I finally managed to get on it they were all gone, the ones I had managed to get in my shopping cart were also gone. So I have no idea how they managed to sell out when no one could log in to the online shop. The guy who sits next to me got 2, both delivered this morning and he is happily sitting playing with one of them now.

I went to PC World this morning on my way out and they had a couple but wouldn't sell them for some reason. Most bizarre.

To be honest it looked as though the staff had their eye on them...

Seems HP have missed a trick here! Just look how much chaos was caused when they dropped the price of these things and how many have been sold in less then 24 hours. They have probably sold more in the last 24 hours than they when they were priced rediculously.

i think ive got 3 from dabs for me and some work colleagues
but Insight pissed me off :/ our account manager said he'd get me 4 (for some other friends and colleagues) and then an hour later phoned to say the realtime stock system was out and he hadnt got me any

hoping i get mine from Dabs

the amount of people flogging for a quick buck is bloody annoying, but unstandable i guess
although why people are then buying them for 260quid plus i dont know

If we buy anything internally we are not allowed to sell it for 6 months. Last time we had an offer on iPaqs HP took all the serial numbers of who bought them and trolled ebay looking for them and in some cases buying them back to see if they were ones sold by staff.

I can't believe the hype on HUKD for this thing, it's gone mental on there. Is it actually any good? By the sounds of it it's cr4p out of the box but the hype is over getting android working on it making use of the hardware far better than WebOS and getting a very cheap Ipad rival.

Anyone got one yet?

It'll make a very nice hobby, but it will never rival the iPad.
