Default network drivers

I have had to reinstall windows xp on a Dell inspiron mini and I can't get the internet working or locate a wireless network. I have added the drivers from the Dell website but it still won't connect. Is there something simple i have forgotten to do?

device manager was fine, I just downloaded every available driver from the Dell website and restarted the pc and thankfully it detected my network I didn't mind so much as I had a usb adapter running the web but I had to get it running properly as it was a friends laptop.

I think offering to help people fix thier pc was a bad idea as getting drivers etc for the notebook was a bit of a pain.

No, but sort of The pc rebooted itself before all the drivers were installed so when I reinstalled everything it worked
