Angry Newzbin to be blocked by UK ISP's

Don't really get the point, it's pretty damn easy to get around this sort of thing.

I also agree that it sets a dangerous precedent.

As you say it sets a bad precedent, not just for pirate sites but any that are deemed questionable but not necessarily illegal.

It effectively holds the ISP responsible for the content that passes through their system and as such anything that could get them into trouble has the potential to be blocked.

Just looked at the judgement and it's a bit of an odd one in that they have been done under copyright law...... So not really a "content" thing more an angle based on vicarious liability.

Well, that's how I read it.

Newzbin2 is only blocked from Newzbin sites from reports, its nothing serious, but as everyone said its precedent, which can be applied on more Newzbin.

For same things has tried with Bittorent and ended like ended...

Good news, the sooner people are stopped pirating gigabytes of data every day the faster my Internet connection. They'll never stop it of course but if they can make it difficult then great.

I doubt if BT will contest the judgement based on the breach of copyright law that they have blatantly known about.................

no chance of this working, there are already ways around this filtering and the sort of people using and running newzbin will figure it out just to "win". The filtering is supposed to stop peadophile stuff online yet you still hear about peadophiles accesing stuff online...
