Samsung Galaxy S II
Bought one of these yesterday as did the missus and I have to say we are both very impressed.
Hadn't done a lot of homework on it to be honest, so it was a bit of a punt but it payed off big time!
Anyone else got one? Any issues with it yet?
Also anyone tried G-Music? I have found the most obscure songs on it and it's free! I have just downloaded the Imperial March and this is going to be set as the ring tone for the when the missus calls

Had mine for 2 months now.
No issues, very pleased.
The only app I've purchased is Co-Pilot Live sat-nav which it pretty good VFM.
I play Angry Birds & Texas Hold-um Live too.
The camera is surprisingly good.

It was supposed to be £37/month but he knocked a bit off.
The last deal I got a year ago from 02 was £25/month 200 xnetwork mins, 100 texts. Nothing else!

Have you tried out the supplied headphones yet? I did on my missus' phone last night (she had been busy getting truck loads of tunes) and the sound quality was really really good, nice pair of buds as well - I'd say as good as my entry level Sennheisers' that cost me £40!

Using the sat-nav app I can't fault the GPS.
Not really put much time into google's nav solution due to patch coverage where I am.
It locks on far faster than my tom-tom & My missus' nav-man.

It's not the lock time that's the issue, it doesn't track as many satellites as the competitors and is therefore not so accurate.

Can't say I've noticed any issues.
I've just downloaded GPS test (same as in the review above). I'll give it a go on the way home.

My Tom Tom has been unreliable and ****e since day one
Travelling up M25: "turn left in 100 yards" "at the next roundabout, turn right 2nd exit" so then you would glance at it and seemingly you are driving in a huge field!
Either that or it behaves all the way, right until you reach the junction in n area you have never visited before and it loses you.
This Samsung has got to be better than that!

Try the following apps
BLN - adds an alert for messages (may need root access)
GPS test - see how good your dps lock and position is.
App to SD, transfer apps from your phone to SD card
Talking caller ID - hear who,s calling before taking the phone out of your pocket
Voodoo control - audio & video hacks (may need root access)
Tiny shark - mobile version of grooveshark - free media streaming
Use allshare, you can then stream from your PC to the Galaxy
don't use Samsungs own app to do any media cataloging....bloody slow & not very good

Ran the test last night.
Locked onto 9 sat's pretty much instantly, then went from 8 >10 as I drove home.
Maybe the tester above was having a bad day, or had a pre-release phone.

I've had this phone for a few eeks now and really like it. For what it's worth here are some apps that you may find useful
Internet Apps
BBC iPlayer
Twitroyd - Twitter account
Wapedia - Phone Wiki
Media Apps:
PowerAMP - For music files
TuneinRadio - Listen to radio over the net
Shazam - Find out what a song is called
Phone Tools:
File Expert - Managment Tool
Swiftkey X - Replaces the keyboard
AK Notepad
Shopping Tools
Amazon UK, Ebay and Shop Savvy
Social Tools
Whatsapp - SMS over the net
GO SMS Pro - Replaces messenger app
Other useful Tools
Flashlight
Go Launcher Ex - Ace app, replaces the menus and front screen, IMO looks a lot better than the standard one
Tasker - Very Geeky but effective if you have the time, costs £4 though
http://tasker.dinglisch.net/
http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/tasker-...p-caters-whim/
Advanced Task Killer - Kills tasks automatically to save battery
Astrid - Organiser which is great
also register your phone on

Soundhound is pretty good, sing hum or play a song to your phone and it'll tell you what it is. A bit like Shazam.
Google goggles is pretty nifty.
Where's my droid (similar to some above)
Battery widget by geekyouup.
