Default I'm running osx lion

the gm release got leaked today which was good enough for me as i'm eager to try this, launchpad , full screen , even a restore partition on the hdd. All brilliant.
Only downside so far the fan is going crazy as the mac is trying to index all my 350gb

Interesting. I thought it was an App Store only download at present, removing it's dmg file post install. Plus in addition I thought it was still only available to developers. Where did you happen to get it from? (PM me if you like)

Alas I cannot run it at home, Mac isn't of the correct spec for it. I'd guess once it is released we'll upgrade at work though.

Sorry to jump into the thread - my question is sort of Lion related :-)

I'm looking to buy the new Macbook Air (with OSX Lion on it) when it comes out which should be this month. I've never had a mac before and was wondering if Apple release the new laptops in all regions at the same time? Or will they keep the initial production run to the US only and then the UK/Europe gets it a few weeks later? What happened last time?

Many thanks!

Looks fine there Ant. I am looking at my aging iMac 24" which should run it *fingers crossed It is intel but a bit long in the tooth.
The other macs in the house will have no problem
One download hopefully and then whack the installer onto to the NAS to do them all.
One thing I am concerned about is as a support company, I carry around media for rebuilds both on DVD and boot partitions on ext drives. IS the install of Lion going to be able to be portable like 10.5, 10.6 etc ?

I made the file that I downloaded bootable by USB with diskutility.

Not sure on legalaities but I'm sure someone would upload a bootable version to torrents and If you already had the download.

Ive gone back to SL now as i was having issues with vlc outputting audio through display port to hdmi

Pretty sure hardware releases are worldwide, however, shipping times might delay when you'll get it.

Additionally, if you were to purchase now and have SL on it, then I think you will get a free upgrade to Lion. There usually is a grace period, and with it being on the app store is isn't as if you'll have to wait for the media to arrive.

Mine has been good on batteries, but saying that I use it in combination with a mouse so probably don't use it as much as some.

I just picked up some eneloop batteries here in the US for my Apple charger.

Looking good so far

Indexing like mad, mission control is quite cool and the swipe between apps and windows is nice

Lots of tweaks under the bonnet I see
The preferences panes have gone on steroids !!
