mouse / track pad not working on laptop
Hi, anyone able to advise me further regarding the fault on my sons HP laptop, all off a sudden after it boots up and fully loads both the external usb mouse and scroll pad refuse to work, it will work up to just before the pc is fully loaded but then refuse to respond to either after that.
tried the pc in safe mode and both are working fine.
I did notice that when the pc has loaded we are getting a new message along the lines off " window has blocked some start up components - click to view "
obviously with no mouse etc then I cant click on the window to see what has been blocked which would well think is a programme that controls the mouse / scroller.
anyone advise me exactly what I would need to do in safe mode to unblock all the components and hopefully allow the normal operation off mouse etc ??
cheers

Model - HP g60-100em
Quote " Have you pressed the touchpad disable button by accident? Some laptops have them.
But its both the touchpad and the external usb mouse that are refusing to work mate ??
Quote "if the touchpad works after a reboot with no external mouse plugged in - it's a software option to disable it when using mouse
nope sorry mate the mouse / keypad are only working under safe mode , as I say feel sure its a programme that is stopping them working hence the " window has blocked some start up components - click to view " message appearing just wonder how I stop all programmes being blocked by windows ???
obviously would have to do it via safe mode where I can actually use the mouse / keypad !!

You probably installed a crap "windows update" driver for your touch pad.
Update the driver with the original one on your CD or get a new one from the manufactures website.

go into device manager and see if the USB/Trackpad are erroring ie Yellow exclamation.
Also look in add and remove programs and list by installs and updates see whats been dumped on it in the last few days and remove.
if it works in safe then its either a conflict or driver issue, id more drawn towards conflict due to USB not working

Try a hard reset mate.
1-Unplug the AC adapter from the notebook PC and remove from any port replicator or docking station.
2-Remove the battery from the notebook battery compartment.
3-Press and hold down the power button for about 20 seconds.
NOTE: Holding down the power button while the computer is turned off drains any residual charge in the capacitors.
4-Insert the battery and plug the AC adapter back into the notebook PC.
5-Press the power button to turn the notebook PC back on.

Okay tried all the above guys but unfortunatly still no joy.
going back to the " window has blocked some start up components - click to view " window which is appearing in the bottom corner off the screen, is there a way off stopping winows from blocking anything at all so that I could get things back to normal ??
failing that anyone remind me how I would go about taking pc back to factory supplied state -
