Question

how do i change the resolution from 800x600 to 1024x768? i am using redhat 7.2 and the GUI is KDE. i am a beginner in linux, so will need a step-by-step guide.

I use the Gnome desktop, and to make changes to screen resolution get to a command window and type Xconfigurator , thisshould start a step by step tool for GUI changes. You do need root privilages to run it though.

bruce, thanx for the tip. i think know where i went wrong, forgot linux is case sensitive. been typing xconfigurator instead of Xconfigurator!

If you have more than one resolution set up in your XF86Config you can switch between the modes with ctrl, alt and + or - on your numeric keypad.
