How do I create a button in flash that reads 'music off' when my site loads up, and when it's pressed it turns the music off but changes to 'music on' so it can be pressed again to restart the sound?

I know how to create a button that stops the sound, but I don't know how to make it change to allow the restart of the background music.

Thanx in advance

..Rik..

Try:

alt.macromedia.flash newsgroup and also the main macromedia website, which has loads of tutorials on stuff like this.

Cool

Hello again Rik

Create a new movie clip symbol called 'Sound', and place your audio in here. You will need a few Stop actions in there. i.e. frame 1 stop, frame 2 sound clip and 'on' label. Frame 3 stop etc.

This symbol then resides on level0 of the main timeline.

Your on/off button then targets the symbol. i.e.
OnPress, telltarget('soundclip symbol') gotoandstop frame 1, stopallsounds.

then OnPress telltarget('soundclip symbol') got and play frame2, etc etc.

Thumbs up

Your On/Off button will also need to be a movie clip, so you can have extra frames in there.

So you end up with:

Sound symbol (with main sound in)
On/Off symbol (which contains the button and actions)
Main button (which will just be a mask to go over your On/Off symbol sections.)
